Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled, 1921 by Clarence H. White was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,236.85). Admittedly, works by Clarence H. White have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Telegraph Poles in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 103,000.00 (€ 66,161.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled, 1921 von Clarence H. White im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.236,85) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clarence H. White auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Telegraph Poles im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 103.000,00 (€ 66.161,36).
