Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale, which included the work Untitled 84-3-1 by Chung Sang-Hwa. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,600,000.00 – 2,600,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,750,000.00 (€ 188,414.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Chung Sang-Hwa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled 97-3-26 in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 6,440,000.00 (€ 757,854.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled 84-3-1 von Chung Sang-Hwa zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.600.000,00 – 2.600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.750.000,00 (€ 188.414,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chung Sang-Hwa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled 97-3-26 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.440.000,00 (€ 757.854,41).
