Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled 79-3-23 by Chung Sang-Hwa. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 693,000.00 (€ 77,086.65), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Chung Sang-Hwa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled 97-3-26 in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 6,440,000.00 (€ 757,854.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled 79-3-23 von Chung Sang-Hwa zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 77.086,65) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chung Sang-Hwa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled 97-3-26 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.440.000,00 (€ 757.854,41).
