This artwork by Chung Sang-Hwa achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled 94-2-5 sold for HKD 945,000.00 (€ 113,268.73) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 480,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chung Sang-Hwa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled 97-3-26 in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 6,440,000.00 (€ 757,854.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 97 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chung Sang-Hwa erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Untitled 94-2-5 für HKD 945.000,00 (€ 113.268,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 480.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chung Sang-Hwa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled 97-3-26 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.440.000,00 (€ 757.854,41).
