Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Lucas/Woodcut by Chuck Close. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,700.00 (€ 12,017.41). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chuck Close achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gwynne in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 2,807,500.00 (€ 2,298,027.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lucas/Woodcut von Chuck Close zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.700,00 (€ 12.017,41) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chuck Close erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gwynne im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.807.500,00 (€ 2.298.027,34).
