In October last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Robert William Burke, which included the work Robert William Burke - 1976 by Christopher Makos. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,886.00 44% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Christopher Makos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Andy Warhol (Altered Image) in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 24,194.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Robert William Burke durch, in der auch die Arbeit Robert William Burke - 1976 von Christopher Makos zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.886,00 und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christopher Makos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Andy Warhol (Altered Image) im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 24.194,67).
