Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Telephones by Christian Marclay was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 23,183.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Marclay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boneyard in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 550,000.00 (€ 493,938.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Telephones von Christian Marclay wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 23.183,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christian Marclay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boneyard im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 550.000,00 (€ 493.938,03).
