A top price for Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans - as previously expected
In December 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction European Noble and Private Collections, which included the work Dutch vessels in a sunlit bay; and Ships caught in rough waters by Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans. The price achieved of EUR 13,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 12,000.00 – 16,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Dutch vessels in a sunlit bay; and Ships caught in rough waters is the most expensive artwork by Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans that we have observed at auctions so far.
