Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Sailing vessels near the harbour entrance at dusk by Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,182.50 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dutch vessels in a sunlit bay; and Ships caught in rough waters, which sold at auction in December 2011 for EUR 13,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sailing vessels near the harbour entrance at dusk von Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.182,50 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dutch vessels in a sunlit bay; and Ships caught in rough waters beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für EUR 13.750,00 versteigert wurde.
