Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Charmant Eight by Chris Ofili was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 189,000.00 (€ 224,080.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Ofili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Virgin Mary in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,882,500.00 (€ 4,064,288.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Charmant Eight von Chris Ofili kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 189.000,00 (€ 224.080,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Ofili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Virgin Mary im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.882.500,00 (€ 4.064.288,82).
