Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Rocker and Rosie Going Home, Seacoal Beach, Lynemouth, Northumberland by Chris Killip. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,244.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chris Killip - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rocker And Rosie Going Home, Seacoal Beach, Lynemouth, Northumberland, Uk, 1984, which sold at auction in April 2014 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,933.08).
