Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Horses, Seacoal Beach, Lynemouth, Northumberland, 1982 by Chris Killip. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,952.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chris Killip - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rocker And Rosie Going Home, Seacoal Beach, Lynemouth, Northumberland, Uk, 1984, which sold at auction in April 2014 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,933.08).
