Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2016 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs Evening & Day, which included the work Deluxe Photo Book 71-73 by Chris Burden. The auction ended at the price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,928.48), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Burden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warship in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 502,000.00 (€ 450,830.71).
