A top price for Chie Fueki
When the work Toward and Away by Chie Fueki was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,729.80). This high result makes Toward and Away the most expensive artwork by Chie Fueki that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Toward and Away von Chie Fueki im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.729,80) mehr als viermal so hoch.
