Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Piracy Disc, Edition Disc by Chen Wenbo was sold in the The Ullens Collection - Experimentation and Evolution auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. The price achieved of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 12,698.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Wenbo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chinesetest No.10 in October 2008 with an auction result of EUR 475,000.00.
