Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Chen Qikuan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Noon sold for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 18,498.85) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Qikuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mood in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,375,000.00 (€ 161,808.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Qikuan erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Noon für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 18.498,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Qikuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mood im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.375.000,00 (€ 161.808,98).
