This artwork by Charles Warren Eaton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2005. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Pine Trees at Dusk sold for USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,942.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Charles Warren Eaton; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A winter landscape sold at auction in February 2005 with the realized price of USD 31,200.00 (€ 23,504.60).
