In October 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Pines At Sunset by Charles Warren Eaton. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,678.09) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Warren Eaton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A winter landscape in February 2005 with an auction result of USD 31,200.00 (€ 23,504.60).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pines At Sunset von Charles Warren Eaton zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.678,09) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Warren Eaton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A winter landscape im Februar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.200,00 (€ 23.504,60).
