In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Walnut Tree Orchard sold for USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,744.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Gaines achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Numbers And Trees: Central Park Series Iv: Tree #6, Carmichael in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 475,000.00 (€ 426,047.18).
