Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Armenian contemplation by Charles Atamian was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,355.67). Admittedly, works by Charles Atamian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Armenian looking Out To Sea in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 58,850.00 (€ 71,567.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Armenian contemplation von Charles Atamian im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.355,67) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Atamian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Armenian looking Out To Sea im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 58.850,00 (€ 71.567,08).
