Marquise de Bonneval (1847-1933), in lace-bordered white dress, lace stole draped around her shoulders, pearl necklace, red rose and falling black lace veil in her upswept dark hair; together with a lady in high necked blue dress fastened with pearl clasps, drop pearl earrings, her light brown hair upswept in a coil (by P. Falchi, circa 1880)

Admittedly, works by Cécile Villeneuve have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vicomtesse Geoffroy de Ruillé, in black dress with white lace underdress, pink rose and foliage at corsage, globular gold bell suspended on a black ribbon choker, pink rose and foliage and black lace veil falling from her upswept blond hair in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 16,730.00 (€ 25,101.16).
