Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Claire Roussel (née Saint-Olive), facing left in black velvet dress with black buttons, embroidered gauze collar, black lace stole around her shoulders, blue flowers and falling embroidered gauze scarf in her curled dark hair; red curtain and sky ba by Cécile Villeneuve was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2003. The price achieved of GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,060.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cécile Villeneuve achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vicomtesse Geoffroy de Ruillé, in black dress with white lace underdress, pink rose and foliage at corsage, globular gold bell suspended on a black ribbon choker, pink rose and foliage and black lace veil falling from her upswept blond hair in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 16,730.00 (€ 25,101.

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cécile Villeneuve erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vicomtesse Geoffroy de Ruillé, in black dress with white lace underdress, pink rose and foliage at corsage, globular gold bell suspended on a black ribbon choker, pink rose and foliage and black lace veil falling from her upswept blond hair im Mai 2004 mit einem Au
