The »bidding war« ended at USD 62,575.00 (€ 53,146.76), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 167,000.00 (€ 151,240.72).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 62.575,00 (€ 53.146,76) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Vilhelm Holsøe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für USD 167.000,00 (€ 151.240,72) versteigert wurde.
