This artwork by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the European & British Art auction, the work Girl Seated by a Window sold for GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,718.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of USD 167,000.00 (€ 151,240.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Vilhelm Holsøe erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European & British Art wurde die Arbeit Girl Seated by a Window für GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.718,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Carl Vilhelm Holsøe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 167.000,00 (€ 151.240,72).
