In the European & British Art auction, the work Girl Seated by a Window sold for GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,718.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of USD 167,000.00 (€ 151,240.72).
