Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Interior by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 47,880.00 (€ 57,177.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 167,000.00 (€ 151,240.72).
