Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction The European Art Sale, which included the work In The Dining Room by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe. The »bidding war« ended at USD 47,880.00 (€ 39,265.21), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 167,000.00 (€ 151,240.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The European Art Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Dining Room von Carl Vilhelm Holsøe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 39.265,21) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Vilhelm Holsøe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für USD 167.000,00 (€ 151.240,72) versteigert wurde.
