Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work A Ming At Home; Game Over by Cao Fei. Here, the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,545.63). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cao Fei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Silent Curse, Nada At Home, Diversionist And City Watcher (Four Works), which sold at auction in October 2009 for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 16,392.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Ming At Home; Game Over von Cao Fei zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.545,63) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Cao Fei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Silent Curse, Nada At Home, Diversionist And City Watcher (Four Works) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2009 für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 16.392,75) versteigert wurde.
