Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Dr. Leonardo Altuve Carrillo (Homen De Barba Vermelha) by Cândido Portinari was sold in the Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 25,124.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cândido Portinari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meninos soltando pipas in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,443,750.00 (€ 1,111,603.02).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Dr. Leonardo Altuve Carrillo (Homen De Barba Vermelha) von Cândido Portinari wurde im November 2014 in der Auktion Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary bei Sothebys in New York versteigert.
