Aquatint in colors, spitbite soapground, sugarlift aquatints, softground etching with chine collé, string and handstamping on wove paper, signed in pencil, dated and annotated 'AP 8' (an artist's proof, aside from the edition of 50), with the blindstamp of the publisher/printer Paulson Bott Press, Berkley, with full margins.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash, which included the work Three String Etchings Giallo by Caio Fonseca. The price achieved of USD 3,200.00 (€ 2,952.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caio Fonseca achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tenth Street #80 in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,085.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three String Etchings Giallo von Caio Fonseca zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.200,00 (€ 2.952,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Caio Fonseca erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tenth Street #80 im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.085,25).
