Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Beverly Semmes could be acquired at Phillips in London in January 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work HOLE/POT/DOT changed hands for GBP 630.00 (€ 712.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Beverly Semmes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Starcraft, 1998 in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,562.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Beverly Semmes konnte im Januar 2021 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wechselte die Arbeit HOLE/POT/DOT für GBP 630,00 (€ 712,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Beverly Semmes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Starcraft, 1998 im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.760,00 (€ 4.562,74).
