Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work La Jatte de lait by Berthe Morisot. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,381,000.00 (€ 1,286,925.73), 15% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Berthe Morisot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Femme et enfant au balcon, which sold at auction in February 2017 for GBP 4,085,000.00 (€ 4,780,965.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Jatte de lait von Berthe Morisot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.381.000,00 (€ 1.286.925,73) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Berthe Morisot mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Femme et enfant au balcon beobachtet, die im Februar 2017 für GBP 4.085.000,00 (€ 4.780.965,81) versteigert wurde.
