Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Bernard Meninsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Portrait In Green sold for GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,076.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard Meninsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bathers, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,784.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bernard Meninsky erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait In Green für GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.076,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Bernard Meninsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bathers beobachtet, die im Juni 2005 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.784,76) versteigert wurde.
