Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art, which included the work Flower piece by Bernard Meninsky. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,824.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard Meninsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bathers, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,784.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flower piece von Bernard Meninsky zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.824,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Bernard Meninsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bathers beobachtet, die im Juni 2005 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.784,76) versteigert wurde.
