This artwork by Barry Le Va achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in February 2019. In the New Now auction, the work Two works: (i) Maroon Felt; (ii) Untitled sold for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,083.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Barry Le Va; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Three works: (i) Double Drawing; (ii) Untitled (feld & glas); (iii) Sheets to Strips to Particles sold at auction in February 2019 with the realized price of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,773.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Barry Le Va erzielte im Februar 2019 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit Two works: (i) Maroon Felt; (ii) Untitled für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.083,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Barry Le Va; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Three works: (i) Double Drawing; (ii) Untitled (feld & glas); (iii) Sheets to Strips to Particles im Februar 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.773,27).
