In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Small Nijinski on Empire State Building by Barry Flanagan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 113,400.00 (€ 115,915.36), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barry Flanagan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nijinski Hare in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 1,451,250.00 (€ 1,684,421.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Small Nijinski on Empire State Building von Barry Flanagan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 115.915,36) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barry Flanagan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nijinski Hare im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.451.250,00 (€ 1.684.421,98).
