Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Lantern I by Barry Flanagan. The price achieved of USD 32,000.00 (€ 29,336.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barry Flanagan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nijinski Hare in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 1,451,250.00 (€ 1,684,421.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lantern I von Barry Flanagan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 32.000,00 (€ 29.336,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barry Flanagan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nijinski Hare im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.451.250,00 (€ 1.684.421,98).
