It achieved a price of GBP 2,032.00 (€ 3,400.87), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barry Flanagan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nijinski Hare in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 1,451,250.00 (€ 1,684,421.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Six linocuts: Mc Brayne's Ferry; Ganymede; Welsh Cob; Welsh Girl; Welsh Lights; and Yacht von Barry Flanagan wurde im Januar 2024 in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.032,00 (€ 3.400,87) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barry Flanagan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nijinski Hare im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.451.250,00 (€ 1.684.421,98).
