Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney by Adolphe de Meyer was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2008. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,842.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolphe de Meyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Water Lilies in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 142,524.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney von Adolphe de Meyer kam im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.842,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolphe de Meyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Water Lilies im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 142.524,47).
