The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,338.73) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolphe de Meyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Water Lilies in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 142,524.47).

Die Arbeit Charlie Chaplin von Adolphe de Meyer wurde im April 2012 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.338,73) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolphe de Meyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Water Lilies im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 142.524,47).
