Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Canto Vii, From 18 Cantos by Barnett Newman was auctioned at Christies in New York in October last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 69,300.00 (€ 69,760.42) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barnett Newman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Fire I in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 84,165,000.00 (€ 61,704,545.45).
