Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Day Sale, which included the work Maquette for State House (Meridian) by Barbara Hepworth. The price achieved of USD 134,500.00 (€ 93,558.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maquette for State House (Meridian) von Barbara Hepworth zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 93.558,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Hepworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Family of Man: Ancestor II im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.565.000,00 (€ 10.602.310,23).
