In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Houses) by Badri Narayan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,333.76), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Badri Narayan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 52,908.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Houses) von Badri Narayan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.333,76) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Badri Narayan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 52.908,17).
