Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bride & Groom by Badri Narayan was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,670.00 (€ 4,828.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Badri Narayan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 52,908.17).
