Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Still Life by Badri Narayan was sold in the The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,930.00 (€ 8,152.49), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Badri Narayan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 52,908.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Still Life von Badri Narayan wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.930,00 (€ 8.152,49) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Badri Narayan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 52.908,17).
