Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work D-I-V-O-R-C-E by Aurel Schmidt for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,719.23). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aurel Schmidt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Body Swallows World, which sold at auction in March 2017 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,358.20).
