Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Robert Louis Stevenson, First Version by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,089.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victory in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Robert Louis Stevenson, First Version von Augustus Saint-Gaudens zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.089,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus Saint-Gaudens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Victory im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.047.500,00 (€ 1.822.267,71).
