Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Richard Watson, Helena de Kay and Rodman Gilder by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,011.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victory in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Richard Watson, Helena de Kay and Rodman Gilder von Augustus Saint-Gaudens zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.011,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus Saint-Gaudens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Victory im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.047.500,00 (€ 1.822.267,71).
