Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Diana Of The Tower by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The price achieved of USD 495,000.00 (€ 443,986.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Victory in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Diana Of The Tower von Augustus Saint-Gaudens zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 495.000,00 (€ 443.986,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Augustus Saint-Gaudens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Victory im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.047.500,00 (€ 1.822.267,71).
