Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Amor Caritas by Augustus Saint-Gaudens was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2016. The price achieved of USD 247,500.00 (€ 233,976.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Victory in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Amor Caritas von Augustus Saint-Gaudens kam im November 2016 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 247.500,00 (€ 233.976,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Augustus Saint-Gaudens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Victory im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.047.500,00 (€ 1.822.267,71).
