Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work The busy quay by August Willem van Voorden. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 836.50 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August Willem van Voorden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals in May 2010 with an auction result of EUR 27,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The busy quay von August Willem van Voorden zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 836,50 und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von August Willem van Voorden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.400,00.
